HELP! car will not go pass 4000 rpm
I have a 2000 honda accord 4 cylinder automatic. at first the car will be driving normally, but when i hit a big right curve the problem starts after the curve. my rpm will not go pass 4000 rpm. It will stall and shake at 4000 rpm and lose speed. i dont know what the problem is. But after turning my engine on and off again the car will drive normally. could it be an electrical problem? transmission?
i just changed my oil just now...and found out that the autoshop i went to before did not change the oil when they were suppose to....the car was low on oil...it came out all black and the filter was left unchanged. when i was driving on the big curve the oil tilted to the other end which probably caused the engine from taking in oil. since vtec on this honda accord kicks in only at 4000 rpm it choked because there wasnt not enough oil. sothe car is running fine.

I suspect more accurately the engien computer saw teh low oil pressure switch and the fuel and ignition before the engine reached higher rpms's to prevent damage due to oil starvation. If the VTEC systm failed to actuate due to low oil pressure, you would see a more gradual loss of engine power. whenever the power loss is abrupt, (other than the throttle cable breaking or complete engine failure) it's almost always a complete loss of ignition or fuel.
