Well, the Accord is known for a quiet, tranquil driving experience. Your 98 Accord is somewhat heavier and more thoroughly insulated against engine and road noise than either the Prelude or Integra, so the driving experience is going to reflect those differences. Also, the suspension isn't quite as firm... there are a lot of elements of driving that are dulled out by weight and insulation.

Heck, Lexus has sold hundreds of thousands of cars on those two principles alone.

:chuckles:
I wouldn't call it amazing...it's not like the VTEC shift delivers another 50 or 75 hp.

Rather than talk about the differences on the internet, go down to the used car lots and test drive a DC2 for yourself. That's the best way to understand the differences I talked about.

ummm if im not mistaken on this subject secondaries are only on vtec models, and those secondaries opening is what makes the "vtec noise". if im wrong im wrong but i dont believe i am. oh and on the vtec noise i never even really noticed mine on my gsr until i put my sri on and then i really could hear it

edit: to understand it maybe u should check out http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question229.htm
that will tell u how vtec actually works...

your accord vtec uses a type of vtec that doesnt really do much

SOHC VTEC really only optimizes the powerband within itself. it doesnt add any extra on

a SOHC VTEC and it's non-VTEC counterpart will generally have nearly the same redline.

DOHC VTEC on the other hand when compared to the non-vtec counterpart will redline much higher. this results in a higher ammount of avalible wheel torque overall (as shown with HP numbers.)
