your accord vtec uses a type of vtec that doesnt really do much

SOHC VTEC really only optimizes the powerband within itself. it doesnt add any extra on

a SOHC VTEC and it's non-VTEC counterpart will generally have nearly the same redline.

DOHC VTEC on the other hand when compared to the non-vtec counterpart will redline much higher. this results in a higher ammount of avalible wheel torque overall (as shown with HP numbers.)
