Default Delphi Alternators

I've heard that the newer accords use these - and that they brought with them a GM-like reputation with them into the Accord. Have many of you had problems with them in your Accords/TSXs? (are they in the TSX as well?)

Honda started to used the Delphi Alternators on the 6th gen 98 to 2002 v6 accords, But Im not sure about the 7th gen. And yes the Delphi alternators has a lot more problems than the denso alternators that are in the I4 Accord. The problems are a bad bearing making a whining noise when your car is running or the alternators just would not charge.

The alternator on my friend's 2000 EX V6 coupe went out at 42,000 miles......

He called Honda customer service and told them he bought a Honda for their reputation of bullet proof reliability.

Honda did cover full parts and labor to replace it, even though it was out of warranty.

Perhaps Honda is saving so much on production costs to have these Delphi alternators that they can afford to cover repairs out of warranty on them :dunno:

Does any one know if you can get an alternator from Denso to replace the Delphi one when it breaks?
