Mostly when it's been in alot of stop and go, or acceleration type of traffic. We've had it into the shop twice now to be fixed, but it hasn't done the trick. Yesterday I was driving and had this happen worse than ever before, the car started shaking and I thought it was going to stall. I turned the corner, and it was jerking a bit, but then the engine continued to rev up and down, but there wasn't any acceleration when I hit the gas pedal. About 10-15 seconds later it kicked back in and I got my speed back up.

Has anyone else had this or a similar experience happen to them? For the initial poster, did you get your issues fixed?

Our car has similar mileage, inbetween 187K and 188K.
Did you do anything mentioned in this thread?

Dude carburated cars haven't been made in 15 years. Why in the world did you replace the fuel pressure regulator That's something that very rarely goes and is very easily to troubleshoot if it does. Stop talking to your "mechanic" :eh:

Replace the spark plugs/wires/cap/rotor, clean the EGR port, check/replace the IACV. Do this in order of ascending cost. Hopefully one of those is the culprit, or it's a combination of those.

I have the same low rpm problem on my 2000EX i4. After trying everything, including EGR cleaning, the only thing that seams to partially solve the problem for a few weeks/months is the TB cleaning and SeaFoam. So I have come to the conclusion, that in my case it should be the IACV.

I wanted to clean the IACV valve and ports this weekend, but couldn’t remove the Intake Manifold. I was able to get the 2 nuts and 2 bolts out (FIG1), but couldn’t actually pull it off. It felted like it was welded on. I didn’t want to put too much pressure on it fearing to break something. Do I have to pry it with a screwdriver or something? Any tips on getting it off?

Remember that mine’s is an I4 so the IM is almost under the windshield and the 2 bolts (Blue) on the back are pretty hard to reach.
