Default Brake pads changed !

Okay. i know it is stupid, so you all don't have to say it to me.
i've just changed the front brake pads for my 5 gens, first time in my life. everything go pretty smooth. But i put the anti-squeal( some kind of lubricate) on the brake pads surface where contact to the rotor instead of the back of the pads where contact to the caliper. After the job done, i test drive the car, i still have brake but kind of responding slow. My question is do i have to remove those anti squeeze thing, or it will dry out and i can just ignore it, ( if i just leave it there, will it harm my rotor or anything in my brake system_?). Any help will be appreciated.

are you using the OEM pads? some generic pads will not have the same stopping power. Your anti-squeal lube might be a problem too. Also, your new pads will need some break-in, give it a week, do not hit the brake hard, i hope this'll help

If you put that anti-squeal grease on the friction material of the pads, most likely it soaked in to some amount. You really need to get new pads & then use brake cleaner to get that stuff off the rotors.

it's ok. you will smell some burning..and you probably did already.

anything + high heat + high pressure = bad smell

I'd be worried about it. I'd get new pads to be safe, but if you think it feels normal, I would go out and do some serious braking from higher speeds and make sure that you are getting the normal braking performance.

i've just taken out the brake pads and seen the top and the bottom parts of the pads worn more than the center parts. Is it normal or some indication to get a new pads? Should i feel a better braking with a new brake pads installed?( since this is my first time to change the pads but screw up, so i want to know ) thanks
