Hey guys, my wife was driving our 94 accord the other day and going down the highway and it just cut off! it left her stranded on the side of the road. (yes it had plenty of gas!) i am no mechanic, but i checked under the hood and no obvious problems. when i tried to start it, the motor would turn over but it seemed like it wasn't getting any fuel.
we had it towed to a local shop, and it started fine that night! now they have been starting and letting it run all day and no cut offs! and the computer shows no problems! the fuel system checks fine, so the mechanic is leaning towards the distributor. if it is, what kind of price should i expect? and have any of you guys experienced this? please help me out w/ some info. i don't want my wife and kids to get stuck out on the road again! thanks!

 

You could pay upto $160 w/ lifetime warrany or 1 or 2 year warr. install should be no more than $100. Also you need a dis seal about 5 bucks. These prices also depend on where you get the parts and if the mechanic doesn't rape you. That should help some.

 

lol, I don't know if you might want to get raped but I know I wouldn't, just go to Autozone, they have some pretty good prices there, trust me its way more cheaper than Kragen and Pepboys, after you buy the distributor take it to some mechanic and ask around to see where you get a better price.
