ok i have an 87 accord lx and if im not mistaken it should get between 25 and 30 mpg someone tell me if im wrong here but i recently totald it up and was only getting like 18-19 mpg im sure my car could use a tune up but im not sure what i would need to tune up and its even harder cuz i have like 50 bucks and no job could anybody tell me what are good tune-ups for about 50 dollars also could my gas milage have to do with my egr valve i have a feeling it is a little clogged cuz sometimes my car doesnt idle very well

first of all you might need to change the fuel filter, air filter, oil filter, oil, pvc valve(not sure if your car has one), and spark plugs, and maybe some fuel additive which might help clean your injectors, use Lucas, its a pretty good brand, I hightly recommend it. sorry if I forgot something, but thats all that comes into my mind right now.

 

If you don't have a job and only have $50, I suggest you hang on to that until you have steady employment.

Which wouldn't be hard to acquire today. You should be able to be working tomorrow by 10am. Go get a job somewhere. Anywhere.

When you get a steady income, change the stuff mentioned above. Could your driving habits stand a change?

After changing the plugs, fluids, filters, etc., along with habits, you still don't see an improvement, take it to a mechanic who've you researched to death.

Get him to tune it up.

 

Hey Champ, buy a Chilton or Hanes manual for your car.
Try changing the oirl and get motivated to switch
out the air filter too, checking the tires and putting in
some air might restore your virginity too or make
you a hero around the girls.
Read the manual , if not, then remember a manaul
is no good unless the pages are oily.
Rub some oil on those pages and feel the good vibes.
