Default 6th Gen Front bumper Mod Question

I wanted to replace my 1999 Accord Sedan front bumper with the newer 01 and 02 style front bumper that has the fog light slots in them.

1. Has anyone done this mod on the sedan. If so,
2. Does it fit with no gaps and
3. Can I still use my old fog lights with the newer bumper or do I have to buy a complete new fog light set or buy just the fittings.

I read in a different forum that this mod has been done for the coupe but no one has mentioned anything about the sedan and no one has said anything about the fog lights.

Thanks for your replies

Well the other forum sucks because the coupe is wider than the sedan.
The sedan bumpers are interchangable.

just get a coupe hood and you won't have any gap. it looks pretty slick. I'm thinking of doing it soon, I'm going to get a coupe cf hood.

2 more coupe bumpers on sedans.

Any idea what had been done to the car in the first pic? It looks very nice and clean. I'm wondering what wheels those are. They look factory but maybe from an '03 or up (17"). It also looks like it's lowered a bit.

98 sedan to 01 sedan is a direct swap, minus a few clips

coupe <--> sedan is NOT a direct swap... you need to swap the hoods too

the fogs are not a direct swap

So let me get this straight. For the 6th Gen.

1998, 1999, 2000 Coupe: Bumper has no fog light slots
1998, 1999, 2000 Sedan: Bumper has no fog light slots
2001, 2002 Coupe: Bumper has the fog light slots
2001, 2002 Sedan: Bumper has no fog light slots

The sedan bumpers for all 5 years can be interchanged. But if I wanted to put a coupe bumper on a sedan then I have to replace the hood also.

In my case, since my car is a 1999 sedan, my only option to get the bumper with the foglight slots would be to get the 01 or 02 coupe bumper and also replace my hood to avoid any gaps.

Correct me if I am wrong

you sir are correct. you'd just want to get the fog shrouds for the 01-02 if you are not goihg to use the fogs.

a couple more for you guys. I got all these photos from 6thgenaccord.com

The coupe bumper on the sedan looks too long and drawn out to me, I'd keep the nose you have now if own a 98 type sedan, it looks great to me.

Plus the fit at the fender crease looks wrong too in my eyes....

I like the look of my bumper too. What I don't like is that the fog lights are just kind of there with no slot or anything. I think the 01 and 02 sedan bumpers have some kind of a fog light slot in the bumper. May be I might do that.
