quick question for you 7th geners. how do i take the stock radio out. i bought my ipod and i ordered a device which i need to connect to my stock stereo. can someone point me in the right direction on 7th gen stock stereo removal. or is there an easier way to install this device without having to take out the stereo. http://www.mp3yourcar.com/default.asp

 

you dont have to remove the entire radio... the connector is on the bottom of the unit. the shifter trim and the pocket under the radio have to come out.

check the attachment... youll get some idea on how to do it.

 

good stuff man. i appreciate your help. so your saying once i take all that off im gonna see a connection on where to hook up that device i bought? and then its as easy as that?

 

i dont have a 7th gen... but the ipod attachment probably uses the same connection a cd changer would. From the pics... it doesnt look like you have to remove the radio

Particularly I am wondering if you had to remove the whole OEM head unit and therefore the top center panel above the radio. I am finding this part ESPECIALLY difficult.
