Default HELP! 5 speed swap problem w/99 Accord.4

I just did a 5 speed swap on my 99 Accord. I used a trans from a 96 Prelude. I had to use the driver side axel from a Prelude because the Ends of the axel are not the same. I did not make it 300 mile before I blew the new axel out of the car. I reinstalled another axel that’s when I noticed that these axels are not the same length. What do I need to do to fix this problem? Do I need to replace the Trans with one from a 6th Gen Accord? Are there different axels that can be used for the driver side? I’m sure this has come up before, and I looked all day to find a similar post. I got a Show coming up soon and I don’t want to brake down again. Thanks

You can get a custom set of halfshafts made. You just need the lengths and type and size of the spline. I think they are a long leadtime however. You could cut then and weld them bakc together, but you have a difficult time getting them straight or balanced. Sounds like your doing a bit of a frankenstein mixing the Prelude tranny with the Accord engine.

use accord axles with accord halfshaft.

prelude and accord halfshafts are different ones has male ends and one has female ends. also prelude axles are long and will bind on an accord.

Yes we did that. I was told that eater trany would work. When I brought the new shaft home I noticed it did not match the halfshaft. I went back and bougt the other shaft that failed. That sucks, but I have PS2 in my car so it gave me something to do while I waited for the flat bed.
