Please Help with Door Panel Question:Going Crazy
I have exhausted all of my resources and have searched all of the Honda forums. I am trying to fix the common door latch problem on my 90 EX. Of course the door is closed. I have read that some have been able to fix it themselves. My big problem is getting the interior door panel off with the door closed. If someone who has done this...please give me a detailed step by step of how they got the interior door panel off, with the door closed. I am really needing to save money on this one and dont want to take it to a body shop to get fixed. Thanks in advance for any advice out there.

there is a small plastic pin underneath the sail panel which will be covered by the ends of the dash when the door is closed. otherwise, all the other screws are accessible. have you tried removing the driver seat first? if you can, you can probably pluck away the rear end of the panel and be able to get your hands in there. maybe get a wrench in there to remove the exterior door handle? be cautious of wires and connectors when you pluck the panel off.
what "common problem" is this? i have a 91 ex and i don't have this problem.

^^ I think he means a "sinmple" door latch problem like door not opening.
About the door, it will be real hard to take it off while closed cause its so close to the dash and there is not enough space to pry it out.
Most of the door panels have only clips which can be pryed out and there are couple of screws behind the inner door latch.
I dont think anyone has done it before like this so you may not get alot of replies. If I were you, I would atleast get the door opened from someone and then work it myself once its open. Goodluck

might be easier to just rip it apart if you can find a matching one on ebay or @ a salvage yard... just take the utility knife to it, it'd be worth it to me to keep from having to try to drag the seat out of the back door or across to the passenger side... just a thought
Unfortunatly, your in a bad situation we had one at our shop about a month ago.....and never again will I try to repair one again. Option #1 would be take to dealer(I know they cost two much, but they may have enough experience to open it with out destroying the door panel or door in our case) I know i'm going to catch hell on that one. We tried going through door up top but all we ended up doing was rip out latch bolt holes and ended up getting a used door to repair ........ $700 dollars later we fixed it.
Option #2 take out seat is a good try, but be careful when taking seat out, and then peel back door panel. Might be easier on 4 door, we did it on 01 coupe. Honda may have someone who's done it a coupe of times and knows a trick and can save you money and a headache.... Sorry ...........
