Default Swapping in H22 Auto into 5th Gen

Tried a search in the hybrid and in the accord forums and couldn't really find any info since most ppl swap to manual. But I'm planning on swapping in a H22 auto into her 96 Ex and just wanted some general info if possible. I know that the engine will drop in fine with the exception of the driver side mount I think. I just wanted to know from anyone that's done the H22 Auto if there are any complications that I should be aware of?

I'm not looking for alot of hp or anything, I'm swapping the engine in for her to enjoy some spirited driving. Just the simple i/h/e will do for her as this will be a vast improvement over the F22 she currently has. And no, although she wants to learn stick, she doesn't want to deal with it on Long Island. Also, is it better for me to leave her with the F22 Tranny or use a H22 tranny as the gearing is different I know so better acceleration is what we're really looking for.

TIA

Um ok, maybe I'll just slightly boost the F since there is no available info on this.

The auto that comes with the H22 is a ticking time bomb...no idea why you'd want that.

Thank you for the a response. I had no idea the H22 Auto was so unreliable. Guess I'll stick the F tranny with the H22 then. The gear ratio's in the F Tranny are too long for the H22 aren't they?

It's pretty bad, it's worse than the early J series automatics. Teach your woman how to drive stick and we wont have this problem

Ha Ha, you were helpful up until that point. My gf wants to learn stick BUT does not want to drive stick in L.I. It's a pain with all the traffic.

i'm going to swap a 99 prelude H22 with the SS trans into my 94 accord the motor is bolt in using a 4th gen lude drivers mount and orginal accord mounts front and back but the trans mount has to have a bracket made , also the shifter needs to be swapped out if you want SS and for me 0BD1->0BD2 conversion, but on 96-97 the TCM has to be wired still ..depending on your state the emission laws might make the swap harder (california) if you don't have to pass visual just look for a JDM swap if all else fails use your old trans and ECU as all USDM H22's are manuals until 97+ then it's a wireing and immobilizer challange.

SS = Super Shitty [transmission]

The 5spd's never had any problems, but I suspect the automatic 4 speeds had a little bit of difficulty handling the torque.

Same deal with [almost] ever 98-02 Accord V6.
