I Have NO CLUE WHAT I AM DOING!
If anyone can and has time could you help me out.
I Don't really know that much about cars. I know some things but not everything I need to know. I want to learn though.
I just dont know where to start.
I have a Honda Accord LX 1998 2.3 liter engine Automatic Trans.
Basically All i wanted to do to it in the beginning was just put in a cold air intake, new headers, new catback exhaust system and a body kit, and some interior stuff.
But now that I'm starting to mess with all that I want more.
I was talking to some friends and they told me that I could get JDM parts for my car since i have a Vtech engine.
And i was wondering what kind of engines could swap with my vtec engine that I have now.
but Kind of want a turbo too but i have no clue where to start with the turbo.
Do i need to swape my engine to get a turbo or could i just work the stock engine that i have now and get the turbo to work with that?
Basically I have nothing better to do and im stuck with this car for a while and i want to upgrade it. I'm looking for the best things that i can get with my money. and I'm willing to pay for it.
But i just dont know what i am doing.
And i am open to learning everything and anything i can even if it means you tell me sites or books to read.
SO if anyone is REALLY bored or just loves explaining things to people like me who dont know all the wonders of a car but they want to learn.
PLEASE send me some info on what things i can do with my car to make it a nice strong fast car.
THANKS

You might want to look into superchargers for that engine instead of turbos.
It seems like you have high hopes for your Accord, and you can make those hope a reality if you stay commited. The thing is to pick a theme and stay committed to it. Don't do a whole lot of mis-matching parts when you can help it and be patient when it comes to finding parts and putting them on.
And it's good to find a proffesional whenever you're doing stuff that you aren't sure about.

To not know a lot about cars, it appears that you have high ambitions.
Good points. Get a game plan together and stick with it. Don't mix and match and cut corners and don't rush.
Remember too, that Hondas come set up pretty tight already, so once you start doing stuff to them, it's pretty much all or nothing. While you CAN do it piece-mill, bit-by-bit. It's best to do it all at once when it comes to the engine itself. Do your CIA and your headers and your exhaust or whatever; but once you get into the engine, whatever mods you do, go ahead and do it all at once.
Look for quality stuff for the Hondas like GReddy and DC Sports, etc.
Plan. Plan. Plan.
Look out for cheap aftermarket knock-off stuffs too.
Good luck.

one piece of advice, watch out for Items on Ebay that says JDM cause most of them are knock-offs.
*Intake: Either AEM, Injen or K&N but with a Bypass Valve
*Exhaust: Greddy if you want it lound or Apexi WS2 if not very loud
*Headers: DC Sports or Greddy
*Spark Plugs: NGK Copper with NGK cables
These are your bolt-ons, I dont know alot about Turbo-chargers and super-chargers so wait for some more replies.
Goolduck BTW and welcome to HAN

You have VTEC engine, not a vtech engine. vtech makes phones. It's a header, not headers, you have an inline 4. Don't buy anything that says it's JDM, it's not. An H22A is the best engine to swap but you're going to spending a lot of money just to get more potential. I wouldn't do anything other than basic bolt ons if you have an automatic, they die easily. That's all I can think of right now.
Use the search button and look through old threads, there's a ton of info in here. welcome
