If performance is not really a big consideration (read: any at all), then just stick with stock. They are stainless, very quiet and will last forever. The last thing needed is another obnoxious rice fart-can on a car with no real preformance upgrades... IMHO.

And unless you do a cat-back system at least, you're really not going to see/gain that much power out of freeing up the exhaust via just a muffler.

CAIs help some and do sound a little raspier. It makes sense that if the intake is modified that the exhaust should be modified. But now we're starting to get into the edge of attempting to increase performance with these 2 things, etc.

I'm rambling...

Thanks for all the responses. I dont think I want the whole Exhaust system since its going out of my range plus Iam realy not looking into HP gain.
If I only install a muffler, does it requires welding, can I do it by my self or do I have to get it done from somebody.
What about Borla mufflers, are they any good?

If you just buy a muffler then yes, cutting and welding will be required. Comptech offered replacement mufflers for the 98-02 AV6's, called them "axle-back" exhaust, but for 03-05 they only offer a complete cat-back system, and it's pretty spendy.

Are you serious? My gf's 96 Accord with the stock exhaust is rusting out like crazy and it's all STOCK. And quite honestly, I see ALOT of Honda's running around with rusted out exhaust's so I'm not sure where you're getting your info from, please elborate.

my car sounded like it had an exhaust way before it actually had a performance exhaust. stainless steal my ass. That thing rusted and holes rotted through it.
