What's my life expectantcy? (95 Accord)
1995 Accord EX-L 4cyl 4dr
I bought it brand new in Oct. '95. It was one of the last to be built in Japan.
I love my Accord. Anyway...
It is approaching 194K miles. I have maintained her extremely well. Oil changes, spark plugs, timing belts, etc. all along with way.
What do you guys think I can expect from her if I continue on the path I have been on? I think I can reach 200K, no problem. What about 250K???
TIA.

Mine was built in the Marysville assembly plant. I don't agree that the Hondas assembled in Japan are any better than the ones built here. The majority of Accords have been built here since 1982.
As for life expectency... it can last up to 300k+ if you want it to.

There is nothing wrong with American manufacturing. It's the engineering that makes Hondas as reliable as they are. I know lots of people with US-built Accords who have had zero problems except for the stupid auto tranny problem on the 98-01 models.

I personally own a 100% Japan made TSX '04
And my sister has a 100% US made Accord Sedan '02
You can't tell d*** apart in build in these cars, my sister daily driven sedan is working on 200k mi and has not one single issue or squeak. Marysville build a d*** nice car IMO.
And I've worked on Schmiddy's 100% Japan build 6th gen, I couldn't tell it apart from my US built save for his battery wasn't a Delco like mine, big woop my batteries still going fine for me...how's your's Schmiddy?

The Marysville assembly workers take pride in their work, because they work for a great company... that has never had a layoff in it's 23 year operation. The plant is extremely well organized and the assembly line flows smoothly on a regular basis. The management and laborers all wear the same uniforms, and all are paid well. Non-union workers is a big plus, too (this coming from someone who works in a union) which have become a big problem for the big 3 (especially General Motors)

Hitting 100k on my 02' AV6. A few hard KMs, several track appearances. It's all good, tranny is fine. The 1-2 jolt is noticable when it's cold but I think it can last another 100k.
If you maintain it well, do not push the engine when it is warming up and generally stay away from doing stupid things it should last a long time.
