Default im jsut confused abotu this

ok i went out to penn state to visit my gf this weekend. its a 6 hr drive. i drive straight there no stops and the min speed was like 65 and max was 90 as i pullin to the parkign lot at a slwo speed i hear this knocking noise. well i know where it was comign form and it was from the engine.

my last car was a 92 taurus and at abotu 119k the same thing happene so we replaced the motor. the knocking noise was consitant.

but in my car wehn i first started it today it didn't do it. abotu 20 mins later it came back.

oil was just changed has about 1000 mile on it w/ a snythic oil. the oil level is at the right amount.

im totally confused on what it could be my motor has 70k on it.

was told it might be the lifters, o a bearing. the car is not runngin sluggish or crappy. but i accualy seems to go a bit quicker. how i have no clue

anybody have any ideas what it could be

sounds like you may be in need of a valve adjustment... most Honda engines have a tapping sound to them, but when it gets overly noticable they are suposed to be adjusted.

the lifters are what rest on the camshaft, and when the lobes push the lifter, the lifter pushes down on the valve... opening the valve... so lifter adjustment... valve adjustment... same thing.

Ive heard that the Helms manual also gives the tolerances and procedures to do this... that is if you are up to DIY repair.
