Help with parts.
I have a 98 Honda Accord LX 2.3L VTEC, and I want to add some parts to improve the performance, and MPG. I also don't want to spend very much either, I'm still in Highschool, so I don't have alot of money to spend. And my Grand-P's car is a 02 Honda Accord EXi with a 3.0L V6, and he would like to know how to improve his MPG.
The only way to improve MPG is to keep your tires inflated, your windows up and your A/C off. Any aftermarket product that claims to improve MPG is probably junk. Properly maintaing your vehicle will do more than anything. We have had countless MPG threads if you don't know which maintenance I speak of, try a search. Keeping the EGR valve clean, using seafoam to clean carbon deposits, and utilizing no throttle coasting above 1100 RPM (when no fuel is being injected into the cylinders) will help give you a boost.
If you don't have any money to spend on gas, why not sell your car and buy something more economical?

27 MPG around town is about normal for an F23. I assume you're not doing much highway being in HS. I get 27-28 highway and 19-20 in my V6 when it's running well.
You could lighten the car but that would be expensive...lighter rims, carbon fiber hood, tear out the seats, carbon fiber trunk, throw away that spare tire and associated tooling...etc...or walk when possible

Theoretically you'd think it would :dunno:
