Default Transmission Filter on '97 Accord SE

I am reading different opinions on the transmission filter for my car. I have the standard A/T. I want to change the transmission fluid and the filter if necessary. The Haynes manual makes no mention of a filter and some forum members have said that there is no filter while others say that there is one that never needs to be changed. Does anyone know the answer definatively?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Burn your Haynes and buy a Helms, but it's right. I don't think Honda has made an automatic with a removeable filter since 1993.

They don't have tranny filters.

I think they are correct, no removable filter on Honda Autos. Simply have the fluid changed regularly.

You would have to tear down the trans to get to the"filter". So
might as well say no filter.
