The SRS light trips when there is a fault in the system. The impact must have severed or damaged a sensor.

I can't imagine anyone unplugging the airbag without unplugging the battery though, that's stupid.
I know personally to disconnect the battery!

Default My MES connector WILL NOT come out of the fuse

panel.... perhaps I am going after the wrong connector, I have read that it should be a two wire connector that goes to nothing.. I have seen that one stuck to the body under the dash.... but damn, I cannot get the yellow two wire connector off of the fuse panel, I hope I am going after the wrong one... I have replaced the driver's airbag, switched the connector from the '96 bag to the '94 bag and need to reset the light.... please advise if the connectore I need to short is the one with the dead end on it... that would be a simpler task for me to accomplish.

The supposed MES connector on the fuse panel is in a nasty place and the release is on the back side... I have tried everything to get the connector out, and I basically give, will get someone to reset it with a handheld if no solution appears here.... thanks in advance....

Again on another site I read that the MES may be a two wire harness hanging connected to nothing....

Default Good news on this end......

Something prodded me to try once again to use the dead ended connector under the dash and the paper clip trick.... and voila... it worked with the bag I purchased... light is out.... couldn't be happier.
