Default bogging at high rpms

I have a '96 accord with v-tec and a manual transmission. Sometimes i can't get above 4500 rpms. If I keep my foot on the gas it just bounces back and forth between 4000 and 4500 rpms. Does anyone know why it would do this? Thanks.

as I told you in the other thread that you created for this, it's probably the EGR. It gets discussed a lot: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=204279

no my cel isn't on. I hooked up a scanner to it and is says that the v-tec solenoid is off, but I tested it and it is working. when it boggs out i can just shut the car off and restart it and it is fine for a while.

fuel filter clogged? it's also possible your secondary spark is grounding somewhere when under load.

my car started to bog at around 20k miles when i would accelerate a bit harder. I must of had dirty fuel in my fuel line which eventually went out on its own by just driving and using one of those fuel line cleaner additives that you pour into your gas tank
