Default Transmission Fluid Level

Hi I just recently changed the transmission fluid in my automatic F22B1 Transmission. It says the capacity is 3.1 qts. I added just about that 3.1 when I check the fluid level after driving when it is warm it is just a hair above the upper line. I was wondering for you people who know about transmissions, do you think this is okay? I looked through the dipstick hole and the fluid looks normal no foaming that I can see. Also I noticed when I checked the transmission fluid after my car sat for a day the level was up high on the dipstick. Im guessing this is because it has had a long enough time to drain back into the pan. Is this normal? Before seeing that I was thinking the fluid level would shrink down since the fluid shrinks when it's cold. Thanks

Ya that sounds fine just a hair above the upper mark . You'll be fine don't worry.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I am thinking it will be okay too. ive been checking it and it seems to be fine. Hopefully it will be fine. It shifts nice and smooth when its warmed up. Plus i heard something about transmissions having vents just incase they get overfilled.

DJ Scotty-esque levels of paranoia Just kidding, I wouldn't put that on anyone.

A hair isn't going to make much of a difference. The only thing it's going to affect anyway is the internal pressure from basic dyamics laws...and only a tiny bit isn't going to make that much of a difference in the internal pressure. The most important thing in the fluid change that most people overlook is to replace the $.10 aluminum crush washer to ensure perfect sealing.

Once at a Valvoline (no DIY changes for me in the winter) the morons filled my oil like a millimeter above the full line with oil that I had given them to change it with...I ended up getting the change for free and the cost of that oil he wasted refunded. I made them drain it a little and do it perfect too.
