i have everything alpine, except for speakers. if you like tuner like deck, get alpine "Bass Engine Plus series" which are probably the same class as pioneer premier but cheaper and have more functions. there's nothing out there like these . 60wx4, time correction control, 4 level crossover, MX control(better technology than EQ) and etc are standard on models, CDA-7983, CDA-7984 and CDA-7995. not only 7995 and 7984 can play mp3, but also are cheaper than pioneer DEH-P8400MP. you can't go wrong with alpine when it comes to deck. just my 0.2

well...i believe that each deck has its own characteristics.
lame excuse ha ?
but i still think like that.

as for alpine and pioneer...both are good. but again you gotta test them and choose based on your sound preferences.

Alpine 7893 and 7894 only differs in the mp3 capability.
7895 doesnt have internal amps.

I just lost my 7864 last week.
I was thinking between pioneer 8400 and alpine 7894.
I choose 7894 eventually because the higher price of 8400 doesnt justify the added features/capability compared to 7894.

i thought about eclipse...very good product if you're really into sound, but it's kind of out of my reach for now.

Pioneer makes the decks in the 98 and up accords...

Alpine never made decks for honda, it used to be panasonic.

Pioneer premier is the same crap as regular pioneer, they just put a funny name on there and jack up the price..

Im not trying to make my stuff sound better... I know it is better, and i'm trying to make this guy realize he'll be better off with an alpine or something better than a pioneer.

i have a pioneer deh-9400MP, and i must say, it's one of the best decks i've ever had.

i say :fawk: to all the pioneer haters.

I've had 3 Pioneer decks, currently the DEH-P7000. Te only reason is I worked at Best Buy and got fat discounts on them, and Pioneer was the best they had.

The biggest downfall of Pioneer, IMO, is the FM reception, it has always sucked on all the decks I've owned.

Someone posted about SN ratio. This is where you do you shopping for quality. You should get all the measurements that matter to you, like FM sensitivity or stereo separation or RCA output voltage and pick 3 decks. Then go play with the decks and see which one you like the best.

as far as i know, the premier line comes with a cool-er remote and one more year of warranty (2 year warranty. oooohhhh)...and then they jack up the price...

for once i agree with SumAccordGuy94....

the premiers to my knowledge come with the same remote as their non-premier counterparts and I'm almost positive the newer pioneers have a 2 year warranty now too. I think the only difference is the preouts on the premier might be 6 volt as opposed to the 4 volt ones on the regualr pioneers

one of my only complaints with my sister Pioneer 740 is the lack of the motorized face and the ungodly long load time for mp3's. Other than that, i like it. This is coming from the owner of a alpine 7894
