it will help to bring some of the finish back. it depends on how long you have let it go. since it is only a 2000, you should be able to get almost all, if not all, of the finish back.

i use meguiar's 3-step. it a pain in the ass, but it makes my car's paint feel like new. i u havent waxed in 2 years, i reccomend taking it to a body shop or detail place to have it "buffed." they take and abrasive compound to take off a very thin layer of the clearcoat, where all the contaminants cloud the finish. you could also try using a clay bar to get rid of the contaminants

don't pay to get the car buffed. Get it clayed first. then go all out with meguiars for that buttery smooth feel. Getting the car buffed is way toooooo drastic for a fairly new car that was prolly not abused that much. Trust me on this. I bought my car used (4 years old at the time) and with just one claying the car was like new. look at it now 4 years later.

Wash Car - Any car soap should do well.
Dry Car - Terry Cloth Towels
Claybar Car - Clay Magic Clay Bar
Swirl Mark Remover - 3M Swirl Mark Remover, use w/ Buffer or a lot of ass behind the rubbing w/ a Microfiber towel.
Polish - Meguiars # 7 Polish, Apply w/ a terry cloth, remove w/ a micro fiber.
Wax - Meguiars # 26 High Tech Yellow Liquid Wax - Same application w/ polishing, or S100 Wax.
