Default Noisy Driver Side Window 98 Accord

Wif calls me and tells me the driver side window makes a 'racket' when she raises and lowers it. It DOES go all the way up/down she says. Thoughts from the establishment on the root cause and recommended fixes?! Difficult or not so?!
Cheers, Kelly

lol 'establishment of the root cause'...all you have to do is spray some WD40 down there to lubricate it. The regulator gets dry over time and produces a 'clicking' noise, it's pretty common. Mine has that problem. I have to spray mine every 2 months or so.

Also, the seals at the top of the door can get dry and need replacement if it's a squeaking noise. I've got that beauty now h:

if u have silicone spray that works, just attach the red tube and spray it along the entire window channel..down into the doors at the ends of the window.. run them up and down while still wet.. the silicone spray wont hurt the rubber weatherstripig just get it off the paint.

i uses Prestone silicone spray in the yellow bottle. i think i got it at walmart.. works pretty good for me.. i use alot of it when i do the channels.. it does nothing for noise though. the pass rear window i know is the regulator. ive replaced it once and its doing it again so i dont use the window. ill lower it enough to spray around it.. i think wd 40 dries out the rubber.. i wipe the silicone spray off the paint and the inside door panel..

Dealerships usualy use Shin Etsu brand silicone grease, comes in a squeeze tube and is applied with a brush.

If you can afford it, replacing the regulator and run channel will make it operate like new. It takes a little bit of practice to get the run channel in right.

How difficult is it to get the glass out and in for a first timer? The manual makes it seem to easy but I kind of doubt that.

i wonder the same thing.. the place that replaced my regulator and motor scratched up the paint on my frame.. it doesnt work well so i dont think they knew how to do it.. the grease, where do u apply it with a brush? for my car the dealer wouldnt sell just the regulator u have to get the motor too. very pricey..no run channel replacement though..i think there are adjustment screws in the door that adjust the window glass back and forth to make it run up and down smoothly and eliminate wind noise..

Peice of cake, anyone with a couple screwdrivers and a 10mm socket/ratchet/short extension can do it. The door glass is only held on by two bolts.

Tip: when pulling back the liner plastic, cut the sticky stuff with a razor. It will go much faster and will stick right back on when you're done.
