I know they sell them on eBay for like $5... maybe someone here already has one they're willing to share.

Ok, a couple things I found out...I got a quote from the Honda dealership by my house to do the timing belt and water pump for $545. Does that sound reasonable? It's not really something I want to attempt myself so I guess I don't really have a choice. Also, when I bought the car, the seller said that only the spedometer and trip odometer stick sometime, but actually the real odometer sticks sometime as well! So obviously it has more than 135,000 miles...didn't stick when I test drove it. Figures. Anyway, when the spedometer sticks, it usually reads that you're going 20 mph and kinda jiggles like it wants to get unstuck but doesn't for a while. They work sometimes. What can I do or replace to get the odometer and spedometer part of the gauges working properly? Anybody ever have this problem or have a solution? Thanks again.

From what I've heard, it's hard to get separate components and you just end up swapping with another cluster. If you get the T belt done, and other fluids, plugs, filter, etc changed at the beginning, just start recording from there with the new cluster and keep up on your maintenence. Even if it's got a lot more miles than currently indicated, with proper maintenence it can run a long time.

But you could try and take the cluster out of the car, see what's causing the needles to stick, might be a diy fix.

Isn't that a vehicle speed sensor problem?

The fact that the odometer isn't working correctly is a huge advantage in terms of bargaining the price.

It just seems strange that the tach and everything else work fine except for the speedo, and 2 odometers. It's like only that part of the gauge cluster is effected. Like I said, I didn't realize that the actual mileage odometer itself was sticking until after I bought the car because it didn't give me any trouble on my test drive. I may try to take out the clust and check it out, or possibly swap in another cluster like you said. It sucks not knowing my gas mileage or the true mileage of the car but it seems like it's been taken well care of so I have no doubt that the car will last a long time. It seriously looks almost brand new inside the car and the exterior is nearly flawless as well. I will see what I find out and post back on here. Thanks for the responses thus far.

i bought a 96 accord about a month and half ago and both odometers werent working. i was going to fix it later and to fix it you apparently have to go to a speedometer service place and get it certified. i got all other engine problems fixed and the odometer magically started working again. you might just need a maintenance. the bad thing about my situation is that i travelled 40 mins away to buy another instrument cluster and ended up not using it.
