Yeah, I thought all cars had those "circle" things, but a quick check of my '05 Tundra X-SP
proved me wrong.

You're right. Like you said, low fuel light probably burnt out and he probably ran out of gas.

I still don't know what the hell you guys are talking about.

Both my Accord and TSX, have a ~"2 lets say filler neck pipe, the pipe then has a funnel type plate welded to the inner dia meter to hold the petrol filler tube.

And it's sized so that you can't fit a diesel filler tube.

Bottom line no moving parts, no flaps...what the hell could you brake off and loose in the tank. And your gas door locks, who the hell would syphin your gas without breaking into the car to unlock the door?

I have no clue what is going on in this thread......

I don't know if some Accords got these, my 99 never had one, but my wife's 97 civic does, here's a pic to give you an idea, my Accord, wife's Civic.

the remote gas door can easily be broken into for thieves to take your gas..

That's the purpose of the small plate with the hole, to direct what type of nozzle, just as passenger diesel cars can't use a class 8 diesel fuel nozzle on account they can't accept the larger volume flow nozzle.

But to my knowledge the Accord's never had this flap that Schmiddy posted, at least none of the Four 6th gen model's I've driven.

UPDATE.

I've been driving it around. However, it won't start again. Another day of 100oF weather in SC and it isn't starting. This time the gas tank is completely full, having just been filled up yesterday.

I still don't have a metal flap to protect the nozzle hole like I used to. And half the people on here say they have one, half don't so I don't know what to make of that.

I guess it's time to check fuses with fingers crossed. But the fact that it started working again and has now stopped has me confused as shit.

It's not a fuse.

What do we have left:

-faulty fuel pump
-loose/faulty distributor
-defective fuel pump relay or harness at relay

We can feel your pain, but do you have a helms manual to trouble shoot with? Else a trip to the mechanic may be needed.

And I'm still not sure the 6th gen Accord ever had a "flappy thing?"
