automatic/manual shifter on 6th gen??
ive got a question,
ive found an incredible deal on a 2001 acura tl type s automatic/manual shifter colum. if i was to buy this, would there be a way, that i could swap out my stock shifter and replace it with the acura one? basicaly, i want to know whether its the shifter unit that needs to be upgraded, or the entire transmition so that id be able to gain the use of the automatic/manual function.

you'll be able to install the shifter but you wont be able to utilize the auto/manual feature.
Accord trannys arent built for that.
I thought I'd posted this before but I guess not...
Yes, as far as I can tell you can make it work but you'll need an upgraded transmission (and possibly engine) ECU as well as a TL Helms manual to figure out how to wire it all out. It wasn't worth it to me...I guesstimated it would have cost at least $400, not including my time.
The 99 TL shifter is the only one that has the correct 4 speed shift gate, FYI.
