Default summer wheels, winter wheels

how many of u guys have aftermarket wheels on your car and put the stock wheels or a crappier set of wheels back on for the winter season. iam plannin on doing this for my car to keep my 16's looking good but does it really matter. i live in sacramento and we dont get snow or ice here, just fog and rain during winter. is winter weather bad for aftermarket wheels? is it better to have a winter set of wheels to keep ur aftermarket wheels in good shape? what u guys think.

Personal preference in your case since you don't have real winter. When I lived in Ohio it was pretty much a must to swap my summer only tires and 18" wheels for all seasons or snow tires for winter. The main reason was safety, but also the salt, snow, ice, potholes, and junk isn't kind to wheels...or anything metal for that matter haha.

I would say that if all you are going to get is rain and fog, I wouldn't personally swap, but sure if you want to, go for it.

Rain doesn't corrode your alloy wheel's finish, it's the salt that does it. And even that it happens very slowly.

Get some summer wheels and stick with them. Look for some rain tires with the grooves . They work great
