Hey,
I don't know how much this will help because this happend to my brother's '91 Prelude about 4 or 5 years ago, but he was having the same noise and problem that your g/f has with her ABS. My brother ended up pulling the relay and disconnecting the ABS system cause the auto shop said it would cost some $$$. I don't remember how much exactly but I do remember it was in the thousand(s) range. I just remember the same noise and things you are describing going on with his car. Don't take my word on it either it could be a different problem. Hope this may be some help. :crazyr:

That doesn't help at all, all he did was disconnect the system I'm sure if you bought a $60 Helms and troubleshot it you'd be able to figure out what's causing it in a day.

No cause he took it to the honda place and they said somethin was wrong with the entire ABS system and that major components needed to be replaced. I didn't expect it to help much. Just giving my 2 cents on the possibility it may cause alotta money to fix it. So I offered him a suggestion and my brtothers solution not to mention this happend years ago. Once again........my 2 cents

it doesnt bother enough to completely disconnect the system, i was just worried about it not activating the ABS system when she is driving at freeway speeds and needs to slam on the brakes suddenly. im going to solve the problem and fix it either by myself or via a shop...still trying to investigate. thank you all for helping me to find the code. now i didnt quite get a code from the ECU its not throwing a code, its the abs system that is. any help? someone suggested watching the abs light for flashes....well?

The only way the ABS would not activate is if the light is on now. If there are (what I call) 'hidden codes', there are problems with the system but i will only deactivate after an ABS panic stop. Go to autozone and see if there are any ABS codes - sometimes they are hidden and will only show up when you jump the OBDII connector or hook it up to the code reader.
