rear brake pads - 99 accord
hey guys i have a 99 accord v6 ABS coupe - about to replace the pads and rotors in the rear. my question is do i need to bleed the brake line when i do this? also - will i need to use honda brake fluid, or will it not really matter? finally - anything else tricky i should look out for while replacing the pads?
Thanks guys - first time changin the brakes so any input would be great.

i did a quick search and got some cool info - my main concern still is how the bleeding of the brake fluid works. do you have to bleed the fluid? i know i must remove the mounting bolt on my 99 to remove one of the caliper bolts - once i remove that bolt, will it start bleeding? thanks.

I'm actually not sure, I've never bled mine. Maybe I should :dunno:
You don't have to bleed the brakes when you replace the pads. Only when you open the hydraulic system. You'll twist the pistons & retract them (to make room for the thicker new pads). When you do this you push fluid back to the reservoir, watch so it doesn't overflow.
But how old is your brake fluid? It's a good idea to bleed the brakes, just to replace the fluid with fresh stuff every couple years.
