window won't go up all the way
I have a 1990 Accord EX.
Having a problem with the rear passenger-side window all the sudden not going all the way up. It goes just fine (speed, sound, etc...) but stops short about an inch from the top. WTF!?
Any ideas? Any and all are appreciated!
Thanks.

Its probably the tracks, either something is stuck or broken right at the end. Its definitely not the regulator or the motor. Yeah try to take the door panel off and inspect the tracks closely.
no fly, haven't yet done that. I had to replace a manual regulator on another car umpteen years ago, and it was a friggin nightmare and was hoping this one would just go away and start rolling up all the way. I knew
it wouldn't, but was just putting it off for the moment.
So shonnv, no haven't seen anything behind the panel yet.
One other thing that I just noticed... I do notice a slight grumbling sound when the motor kicks in. But the window goes smooth, etc.. until it reaches "the top" (1 inch from the actual top).
Going to try removing the panel tonight and see if I can seen anything more.
Thank you very much for the responses, keep em coming if anyone else has any thoughts...

It could be the regulator or just the tracks. Open the panel and roll the window up and down several times and observe closely.
If you know how to do a little bit work on cars, you can buy a regulator for like $20 or a used for $10 from a junk yard and install it yourself.

Okay, for those interested here is the latest...
Removed the interior panel, etc... the problem looks like two areas of a plastic part where cable/pulley is attached at the top to regulator. These plastic parts have broken off and cable is not pulled tight enough, etc...
Soooo, it looks like you're right...regulator. Unless of course it is possible to replace this plastic/metal pulley assembly by itself, but I seriously doubt it.
Is anyone aware of any diagram/service manual type documentation there might be available online for this repair? I'm sure I could figure it out okay, just like having something to stare at in case I get lost.
Hopefully I will remember exactly how to put everything back together after I get replacement parts.
