O2 sensor wiring 'extension' w/ header install
I'm about to install a new header and need to extend the O2 sensor wiring since the location of the sensor on the header is much further down the piping than on the stock exhaust manifold.
Can wires be spliced in to the existing harness to extend the wiring, or do I need to purchase an aftermarket wire extension with plugs on each end? Is a particular gauge and heat temp rating required for that wire?
Any other tips would be appreciated.

I purchased an OBX stainless steel 4-2-1 header, and it didn't come with an extension. Is there any reason why the O2 sensor harness can't be spliced to extend it, either by using male and female plugs at each end, or by soldering in an extension. (I intend to wrap the wire in some heat resistant material since it is so close to the header)
if you buy an after market o2 sensor then it sould be long enough to reach. you just cut the plug off of your factory o2 sensor(directly next to the sensor) then splice the aftermarket one into the plug. Then you just plug it back in. Thats what i did when i put my header on and i never got a CEL. So i guess it works fine.
