'98 V6 Accord are under recall for an egr repair kit that needs to be installed to fix the problem permanently.
If you want to do it yourself you need to pull the upper intake and the egr valve, then clean the port in the upper plenum and the lower to the valve. No big deal.

 

They install a stainless steel sleeve to prevent buildup. If it qualifies they'll do it for free.
