DIY on Multiple Accord Problems
My drunk "friend" burnt the clutch on my car when he "borrowed" my car so i took it into the shop to get it fixed, the muffler also fell off a couple days ago too. Heres the list of repairs they need to do and the parts and labor cost.
Clutch
----------
Parts - $235.00
Labor - $532.00
I got a clutch off ebay for cheaper so i just did that, i dunno if its any good though.

B-Pipe (what broke on my muffler i guess? even though my muffler just fell off, i still have it in my trunk its all rusty though, i can take pics of it if you think i should, see if the store is trying to rip me off for a part i dont need)
--------------------
Parts - $95.00
Labor - $76.00
Thermostat
-------------------
Parts - $22.00
Labor - $76.00
Any suggestions on what i should do would be great thanks.

anyways, if you need a new muffler, than just get a good aftermarket such as a cheap magnaflow one. i got mine for around 50 bucks shipped
the clutch is cheaper but XTD is kinda of a off brand. as long as they are up to their warranty it should be all good. remember to break it in properly.
the thermostat looks good.
I suck at car shit, and just started getting somewhat interested after i relized i had to pay 1000 to get my car fixed, i figured it would be good to know this shit myself and it would be cool to know about cars. It said somthing about 500 mile clutch break in on the ebay auction, how would you properly break one in?

to properly break in...no burnouts, city driving only, dont "pop" the clutch
hard to just city drive for 500 miles, lol

When you're breaking in the clutch, highway driving doesn't hurt anything at all. It just doesn't count towards the break-in miles, since you aren't working the clutch.
It would be more accurate to say break-in is 100 or 200 (or ???) normal non-racing starts. Every time you take off from a stop sign or redlight, just pretend there's a cop behind you
. You just want to get the clutch/flywheel/pressureplate to wear into each other without scorching their surfaces.
