Default 2001 Accord Exhaust advice!

Looking into getting a performance exhaust for my 2001 Accord (standard, I4, 2 door). Don't want something too loud or too expensive... just a good value and some added HP. Any suggestions?

Apexi WS, Greddy SP or Magnaflow.

any advice on what to get first....catback, headers, everything at once?
does a high-flow catalytic converter make a big difference or is the stock one fine?

get a header first...the cat wont really matter assuming you dont have much miles on your accord.
if you are going to replace it, then run seafoam first (because seafoam dumps hella shit into your cat).

Good headers and a high flow cat (as opposed to a "regular" or OEM cat) are the 2 pieces that will make the most difference. Just remember that Hondas already are set up pretty tight even stock.

If you can afford it, go ahead a do new headers first. DC Sports makes great headers for Hondas.

If you have the money, go ahead and do everything at once. Why not? Do the headers, a high-flow cat, and then the cat back exhaust system. While you're at it, don't forget to be balanced and do your intake as well. Something like a cold air intake (AEM or something) and/or at least a K&N air filter.

yeah I already have the AEM Cold Air Intake and figured the exhaust was the next step. Will headers really make more of an increase than the cat back (if I had to choose one or the other for now)? Any other header brands that are good for honda besides DC?
Thanks!

Magnaflow does not catalog a catback system for an '01-'02 I4 coupe and the dolt at Magnaflow couldn't tell me why it's not okay to use the one they have for the '98-'00 coupes. They only list a catback for the '01-'02 I4 sedans. Anyone know different, or if the '98-'00 can be used on the '01-'02 I4 coupes?

A cat back really doesn't do that much on it's own insofar as performance is concerned. Sure you may open the flow up a little with the right mufflers and what not; but that's about it besides maybe shaving a few onces or pounds off. Your main increase in punch will come from a high-flow cat (remember, a cat back does not include the cat) and a good set of headers.

The thing of it is is like I said previously, these cars are pretty tight anyway. When you go to do mods, it's an all or nothing type of thing. Sure you can piece-mill it; but it's best to do everything at one time if you can. What you do first or do at all is really up to you and your budget. ;-)
