Im planning to replace my alternator myself .............
what are the tools needed and how manyhours would a novice approximately take to do this job?


can anyone kidnly tell me what to do too thanks.. repair shop trying to bill me 225$ and check on the local parts store i can get an alternator for just 99 $..................

 

Make sure you get a high quality remanufactured alternator like Bosch in which I have. I replaced mine (original) with the reman. Bosch in Nov 03 and no problems. If you can do it yourself, you could save some money with the core return. The mechanic told me its a bit tricky to replace because the power steering pump has to be moved.
