I'd go directly to the Honda dealer's management and demand a full refund. I wouldn't remove the ones you just installed until the new replacements are available, and I'd try and get the dealer to swap them out for you at n/c, since they blatantly lied to you (or a dolt behind the counter ignored a American Honda bulletin). I used to work for a Honda dealer and they don't like to get nasty-grams from corporate; in other words, if the dealer tells you to stuff it, a call to American Honda, or better yet, a written complaint to them would be better if you find out who to send it to. . .Everyone in the dealership lives & dies by their CSI score, and I'd throw that out in your 'discussion'. Good luck.

Has anyone been able to get American Honda to replace the links on a vehicle that's out of warranty? Seems that if these links are failing that should be considered a safety issue, and that there should be a recall campaign regardless of age/odometer reading.

Default rear stabilizer link

My 99 is still under extended warranty. How can I tell if my stabilizer links are bad?

You'd only need to replace them if they broken. If they are broken, you'll probably hear some clanking around as you go over bumps, etc. If you get under the car and inspect and try to move the links and sway bar, everything should be nice and solid.
