I'm guessing the miles on your dash are divisible by 3,000.

ex. miles at 65,500 round up to 66,000.

that light comes on for things like oil changes or suggested honda service intervals.

in order to clear it, turn your car off. hold down the trip reset button on your gauge cluster. start your car, but keep the button down. hold it until it turns off.

The intervals are every 7500...and it's very doubtful if his mileage is divisible by 7500...because it probably starts clocking at each reset, not every 7500.

Exactly, it starts calculating after each individual reset.
