aem v2 on 6th gen
i just purchased an AEM v2(version 2), and the end of the piping that connects to the throttle body is a bit deformed looking, like oval shaped, bends inward... is this right? the guy i bought it from said is was like that when he got it new, and when he called AEM, they said it was normal. he said he had no problems with it, it was barely used this product, the guy was parting out his entire car(and he has a good feedback on the site), so i know the part itself wasnt the reason he sold it. he has been kind of enough to work with me, and i am going to send him a pic as well, if that was the condition he had his. you guys with AEM v2, is this true? it seems like someone bent it into this weird shape, its not circular, i dont see how it would go into the throttle body smoothly, but then again, the AEM v2 piping is so much thicker then other intakes, maybe it does bend in to fit. one piping is perfectly circular(end that connects to filter), but not the end that connects to the throttle body. its weird, the outside is not cracked or dented in really like if someone really did damage it, but i cant see how this could be the way its made. i will try and get pics up, but any1 with aem v2, plz comment if u can.
mine was messed up when i got it too...it was bent in like a D tho...i called AEM and the place i ordered it from, they were gonna send me a new one but i got impatient so i just got some pliers and a hammer and fixed it...i installed it and it works fine...just took a while to do...i dunno what it was, that first batch just had some fuck ups. mine was sealed in the box, not a single scratch on the box, then i open it and pull out the intake and it's bent....but an oval shape is alot better than a D lol and if AEM said it's good, just use it and see...but it's not supposed to be made that way, it's supposed to be round
