Default Lug nut question

Replacing the wheels/covers on a 2005 LX Coupe with OEM Honda alloys. The lugs have the plastic collars. Can the collars be removed and these lugs be used? Or just get all new lugs from Honda?

I use oem lugs with the plastic collars on alloys...works fine for me. I've used the lugs with two different sets of Honda/Acura alloys with no problems.

They stick out just a little, but then again so does the
Honda wheel locks. So kind of evens up.

Did you remove the plastic collars?

Yes, the lug nuts on the LX (6th gen) are longer then the EX's. I can
get takeoffs..but doesn't look too bad.
Opinions of the picture above?

They look fine. Can you remove the collars and put them back on if we switch back to stock tires and wheels in the winter? Or do you have to break them off?

The plastic pieces have a cut in them. They pry off pretty easily. I'm using OEM steelie lugs on factory alloys also. No problems here. It's a good thing they worked because I couldn't find anyone around here selling the proper lug taper besides the dealer. Everything in the auto parts stores were a conical taper. I also had to go factory to get locking lugs, too. Fortunately I got 'em a little cheaper than the dealer.
