03 accord dash illumination problems???
i have the exact same problem on my 03 accord, I think it may have something to do with a aftermarket head unit, I got a alpine hu installed in the lower dash about 3 months ago and a few weeks ago I got the same problem, I can still see the illumination it is very very dim. I am about to take it to the dealer when I get a chance, but they'll probably say the the same thing, they can't fix it b/c of the headunit i got put in.
Did you use the stock wiring harness when you put in the aftermarket head unit? If you cut all of that out and just spliced in all the wiring, something could have gotten messed up. If you left the harness and did a straight plug/snap in with the new unit, then one thing I think it might could be is that the power supplied to light up a stock head unit is less than what some of these aftermarket head units require to light themselves up and show off all their pretty colors and dancing lights, etc. In other words, the aftermarket head units may just need a little more juice for that specific purpose and the wiring/system just isn't supplying it. Now that's just my crazy stab at it....
I did get a wiring harness with my HU, I think it does have something to do with the aftermarket HU, but I just don't know enough about that, I will take it back to where I got my HU installed on sun. and see if they can fix it, ill let u all know what happens
Hi, I have an 2003 Accord EX with no aftermarket system. My display just went out on me two days ago. Is this a common problem? Was there a recall or TSB for this problem? I have over 40k miles on the vehicle so it is out of warrenty. I'm hoping Honda will honor this if it is a known problem.
Looking for answers or suggestion on a fix.
Thank you!

sorry about the delay but i have no good news neway, i took my car back to the peeps who installed my HU and they checked all my connections and gave me a new mounting harness, didn't fix anything and they said it wasn't their installation, so basically I am stuck with both Honda and them saying it ain't their fault. i guess i can bite the bullet and just tell honda to fix it, but last time i did that I paid 113$ for a oil change.... THiS SUCKS !!!
