Default A few questions

I have a couple of quick questions. I just bought a CPO '02 V6 EX. Has anyone heard of '02 auto tranny problems? Also, I can't find a repair manual for 2000+ accords. How accurate is the 98-99 chilton manual? Thanks

I dont like bashing the n00bs yet but, he is right.
This topic is currently being discussed.

02 accords were manufactored with the transmission problems corrected from 98-01 models.

im sure there will be a few trannys that will mess up but it shouldnt be as common as the 98-00

The Chilton manual stinks. If you are planning to do any real maintenance or repairs, go to Helminc.com and get the real manufacturer's manual.

There were some problems with the 00's and 01's. The 02's have the identical transmission, so any issues with the previous years will carry over to the new year.

Please realize that the transmission issues with the V6's are pretty exaggerated. Don't get me wrong, there are horror stories out there, but it's not like every single V6 auto has a problem. I think it's actually around 3% of the cars carrying that transmission, that incudes the: odyssey, TL, and CL.

The Chilton manual for the 98 and 99 model years should be fine. The only difference between the 98 and 02 Accords are some interior tweaks and new bumpers. The location of the screws, valves, gaskets, tanks, etc. are identical.

Depending what you wanted to do with your car, the Helms manual is top notch, but comes with a higher price tag I believe.

Default Help with ordering Helms manual

I looked on Helm's website and saw a service manual #61S8400, but it says it is for the 4 cylinder. Has anyone found a manual with 6 cylinder info? Thanks

What you have to do is buy the Helms regular I4 Accord manual and then get the V6 supplement. And Helms > others.
