Default Honda Warranty

Have some questions regarding the Honda Warranty for anyone who may know the answer. I purchased an 05 Accord, I want to put some mods on it, but I do not want to void the warranty, my questions is how far can I go with mods without voiding the warranty? Anyone know? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

The burden of proof is wiht Honda ot show that your specific aftermarket parts caused the problem. Althouhg anytime you add any "performance" products to the car, you've opened up the door to have a claim denied.

There isn't much you can do.

Hell, I had a car a couple weeks ago with an AEM intake, the customer complained of a check engine light. Turns out the air filter was missing and the CEL was from a gummed up EACV. His warranty claim was denied.

It depends on the dealer from some of the comments I've heard here on HAN, and stories I've been told.
1. Don't drive into the dealer with a nitrous bottle (should be obvious)
2. The part that you added has to be the cause of the problem, but the dealer could be difficult on this if they want to be. If you add an intake, then the brakes have a problem, they shouldn't be able to deny warranty for that. However, if you added a racing clutch or even something as small as a short shifter and blow the trans, they could deny you if they like.
3. You should be pretty safe with wheels/tires as long as you aren't radically above or below the stock diameter of the tire, or using a crazy wheel offset. Two words, plus sizing.
4. I've heard different things on engine mods (i.e. intake, exhaust, etc.) It's the dealer, and the situation at hand. Having all your maintenance work up-to-date helps, along with no evidence showing of abuse.

5. Sometimes they will warranty once despite suspected abuse, but with mods all bets are off.

It's really better to get an older car that's out of warranty and not your daily driver, to mod heavily.

I was really thinking about puttign an exhaust system on that is why I asked, but I have been looking and have not been able to find one anyways. So now I am thinking about putting some 19's on it and maybe a spoiler, anyone think that will void the warranty?

It will void the body warranty on the trunk, and most likely the mechanical warranty on the suspension components.

As long as you aren't worried about the audio warranty or potential side effects of bad wiring. :chuckles:

Most dealerships don't really care unless it's super obvious the customer caused the problem. It really depends.

We do sell a lot of OEM replacement wiper blades though. They even have Japanese characters molded into the blade. h:
