My buddy has aquired a 1st gen accord an it runs fair but i was wondering if a ZC enine would go in there. Thinking about it some more i think it might be quite a custom job to get that in there.

Man typing this up kinda makes me answer my own question. Any engine worth wile dropping into it?

I've done civic ZC swaps but thats childs play. They were built with that motor in them.

I remember when I was small ( probably 5 or 6 yrs old ) my dad had like a 1970 something honda civic. He had it imported from Hawaii. Not sure why.

 

Yes, the ZC engine would fit... but it is quite an undertaking. According to a couple of people who have done the swap in their 1st-2nd gen Civics, the hardest parts are in the wiring and fuel line plumbing. Consider stuffing a 1st gen Prelude EK1 1800 engine in there, and replacing the old Honda carburetor w/ a Weber. Direct swap, and the car will have decent power.
