Default Replacing stock cd player for accord. Help!

I recently bought a CD/MP3 player for my 02 accord car. I got installation kits. I wonder if I still need anymore wire harnesses. I've been thinking of cutting off the old connector of my stock, then connect them to new cable for the new cd player. Any idea or suggestion. Thanks

Your Install kit should have come with a wiring harness. If it didn't you can get one just about anywhere (walmart:$8-$10, circuit city:$10-$25). This is clearly labeled and will be easy to splice to the harness on the new player. Splicing in the dash is a pain and totally unnecessary when you can do it indoors in good light and make sure you get good connections.

The LX models have single DIN unit while the EX units and some of the Special Editions have a Double DIN unit. The 01-02 EX's have a six disc changer and cassette player all in one

When you remove your stock unit(on the lx) the compartment underneath it will come out with it. The larger unit will fit in the new space. What I was saying is that the connections are the same. Your lx plug will fit in the ex hole.

I got the wire harness and connected to this head unit (Sony CDX-M8805X). Some wire is left out as not necessary to connect. I tried it and it WORK! But now its motorized face plate doesn't close. Any idea that went wrong?
