i was wondering what the difference between a 98-00 and 01-02 front bumper is cuz im looking at a wings west lip kit but its only for 98-00. i could probably make it work if the years arent that much off from each other. ive heard that the 01-02 bumpers are a lot nicer but i dont know...

well the 01-02 has a horizontal thing that spans across the front bumper
98-00 ---doesnt have it

98-02 coupes have the same front bumper.
He's referring to sedans.

here's a comparision pic of 98-00 & 01-02 Sedan bumpers. 02 is on left and 99 is on right.

 

98-00 coupe bumpers are different from 01-02. 01-02 has the cutouts in front where the fog lights go and also semi-cutouts in the rear where the exhaust(s) are. the OEM kit only fits 98-00 coupes.

Actually the coupe bumpers changed more in 2001 than the sedan bumpers.

Anyway the WW W type lip will infact fit, but it won't fit like it doesn on 98-00's. The grill opening is longer, so the part of the lip that sits inside the grill does not fill up the entire grill opening, so you end up with gaps. If you like the lip enough, go for it, it doesn't look too bad.

It probabably wouldn't be as noticable with a dark color like black, but you can see it here:
