Im not sure about a 97 accord, but on my 93 accord their is a little slot next to the maintainance light. You stick the master key into the slot and the light turns green. Every 3000 miles though, it turns orange to let you know you need an oil change. Hope it works!!!

i hope he doesn't have a 97 or earlier, because if he is having trouble with that method, he shouldn't be driving.

listen to dirtdiggler, every owner's manual has the procedure. always go to that first, then search, then post.

it would be beneficial for you to get one on ebay. it answers questions like these and has other info on bulbs, how to replace them (and thus remove parts like corners and bumper lights), and suggested maintenance.

i think the MRL comes on after so many miles to remind u to do maintenance. it doesnt turn off by itself. there's a switch under the driver side dash, probly above ur right knee, that u have to press and hold for about 3-5 secs. not sure if the ignition just needs to be in the ON position or the engine needs to be running when u hold the button.

which accord model are you talking about? the 5th and 6th gens are reset by things above the dash. 5th gens have the button that Tinker Bell talked about and 6th gens require starting w/the car off and then switching the ignition to ON.
