Default brake pedal noise

Does anybody else have a brake pedal that makes noises when being pressed and released. I don't notice it as much on my 99 Accord EX, but the pedal on my 02 Accord EX V6 makes a sound that almost sounds like the expanding/contracting, stretching, clicking springing sound of a mechanical pencil when putting on the brakes and then again when the pedal rises back up with the car both running and turned off. The car has new pads on the rear and almost new pads on the front, there is no vibration in the pedal or through the wheel and I just replaced and bled the fluid with genuine Honda fluid and the car still stops fairly well. Should I be concerned about this sound or is it normal? The reason I ask is because I have been noticing that the brakes on the 99 4Cyl seem to have a firmer pedal and stop the car better than the brakes on the 02 V6.Could there be a problem with the 02 or is it just because with the V6, I have about 300lbs. more car to stop than with the 4 cyl. Sorry for rambling on!

what type of brake pads u using? if it's some crappy ebay pads, that might be the problem... also, the noise level depends on the material the pads is made of... i THINK the synthetic pads make more noise?? help me out here

I am using OEM Honda brake pads all around and they are silent. I wasn't too specific before, but the sound sounds like its coming from under the dash when I press and release the brake pedal. I thought it was the brake light switch, but I stuck my head under the dash and the noise is coming from farther up in rhe dash?

Is the sound from the brakes or the brake pedal?? if you are talking about a clicking sound when you press and release the brake, that is common for it is the release mechanism for your auto tranny so you can take it out of park, etc.

It's also normal for the vacuum brake booster to make some noise, but it's not real loud. Without hearing it firsthand, it's tempting to say that's normal.

is it automatic?

could be the shifter release... nothing to worry about, it shouldnt happen when your driving, only when you are in park...

The pedal makes the sound all of the time and the car is a automatic. I know what the transmission shift interlock sounds like and it's not what I am hearing. It bugs me that my 99 Accord 4cyl with 78,000 miles has better brakes than the 02 V6 with 52,000 miles on plus fresh brake pads all around.

The fresh pads may not be worn in yet.

It could be the brake light switch, or shift safety switch.
