Default Burning Oil

My dad has a 95 Accord that is buring a lot of oil. Does that mean there is a sludge buildup. What would cause this.

My accord burns m1 kinda quick. Once I get about 2k after an oil change i need to add an extra quart. But Only with M1. All other oils are just fine.

I use Mobil 1 synthetic 10w30 in my 96 Accord (150k miles) and change it every 4-5k miles. One time I went over a little and had it replaced after 7,000 miles... I was half a quart low. I haven't lost a drop between 4-5k mile intervals.
